Bowling is not something that people tend to
associate with places in Asia and for that
reason there are not that many people coming to
Macau as tourists that realize that they can get
some good bowling action in the city. One of the
things that you need to know about bowling and
Asia in general however is that in the last
decade the sport has taken off in terms of
popularity across the continent. What was once a
sport thought of as being nothing than a way for
lazy people to feel good about themselves has
now been understood as being a sport about
amazing hand-eye coordination and a keen
understanding of mathematics. Asians in general
have flocked positively to meet this new
challenge and the result is that bowling has
become very popular across the continent. Macau
was the host of the East Asian Games in 2005 and
for that particular honor they needed to
construct a venue for bowling. The result was
the Macau Dome and that venue after the games
became the major international bowling centre in
Macau for everyone to use.
Bowling action in Macau was
speculative at best before the construction of
the Macau Dome but now that the venue is firmly
in place and has been for more than three years
it is quite easy to see that bowling in Macau
has the same international standard as it does
elsewhere around the world. People from North
America can come to Macau and not miss a beat
about their bowling action because the rules of
the bowling are exactly the same in Macau as
they are in the other areas of the world.
Another thing that is similar is how the bowling
alley actually operates. Paying for your games
either based on time or based on the number of
games bowled can be done at the Macau Dome and
at the same time the shoe rental can be done in
the same way as one would expect it to be done
anywhere else. The balls that are available are
of a comparable quality to elsewhere in the
world and the quality of the wooden lanes, the
pin retrieval system and the ball return are all
very good as well. The Macau Dome is a very
impressive and modern bowling alley and
therefore the end result of that is that for a
very reasonable price you can have a sincere
bowling experience in a place that you might not
think of initially as being able to offer such
an experience.

Internacional, Coloane, Macau.
Opening Hours
Monday - Friday 14:00 - 23:00 and also

The Macau Dome is actually close to the go kart
track that is available in the Cotai area of
Macau and for that reason you can actually go
back and forth between the two rather quickly.
There are restaurants in the nearby area as well
allowing you to combing go karting, bowling and
eating for a full day of family fun. That is an
unexpected bonus provided by Macau to people
that go there purely for its gambling capital
reputation.
