One of the criticisms of Macau that often rears its head is the idea that Macau does not really have much adventure to offer. There are some people that do not get a thrill out of gambling and for that reason look at Macau for a few seconds before looking elsewhere for an adventure that will get their blood pumping and their heart rate going. The interesting thing about this is that people that look at Macau and do not see a chance for adventure outside of the casinos have completely missed the Macau Tower . The Macau Tower is a large part of the tourism draw that the city of Macau brings to the table and the main thing it offers is adventure in all shapes and forms.
Consider for example the propensity of the Macau Tower to feature activities that they refer to as heart-stopping. In translation this essentially means that they only put on adventurous and extreme activities along the lines that thrill seekers might be looking for and for that reason Macau is definitely a city you can travel to if you would like part of your vacation to be these types of adventure activities.
A good example of an adventure activity you can do at the Macau Tower is bungee jumping. Bungee jumping is the act of tying a very elastic piece of rope to your feet and then jumping off a bridge, cliff or other very high plateau area. The rope needs to be short enough that you do not hit the floor but come very close to doing so. At the end of the stretching of the rope you will be pulled back up into the air in the same way a slingshot would work and you will get to experience not only travel in the downwards free fall direction, but also the backlash that can occur when your feet are attached to a giant rubber band. It is a very exhilarating and terrifying experience and it is definitely just one example of how your Macau vacation can most definitely be an extreme one.
A second example of an extreme Macau activity that you can pursue at the Macau Tower is an activity known as walking around the rim. The basic premise of this activity is that you need to test yourself against one of the highest elevations located in the city of Macau and for this reason people with vertigo should avoid this activity like the plague. For adventure seekers however this is one of the most extreme activities you can get anywhere because what you are doing is essentially walking around the rim of a giant cylinder in the hopes that your walking will not cause a reaction in your body that makes you feel faint. It is very hard to describe this experience in words because you really need to experience the activity to know just how amazing it is. It is however just one more example of how thrills in Macau can very easily be found outside the casinos.
