Hotel Presidente is an interesting hotel to classify because it does not conform to the norms that one would expect from the two main categories of hotel that you can find in the city of Macau . Massive luxury hotels are very expensive and have a multitude of amenities while discount hotels are cheap and often in good locations but do not really bring anything to the table beyond accommodations. Hotel Presidente is neither of these things. It is a medium expense hotel with a reasonable number of amenities but it does not really go over the top in either area. Therefore, it is often the choice of a person that does not want to spend all of their time in a resort but would like a level of luxury above and beyond what the discount hotels can offer.
The Hotel Presidente has a nightly going rate for its rooms in the range of HKD 1500 a night. That might seem like a steep amount but it is hundreds of dollars cheaper than most of the luxury hotels in the area. Like the luxury hotels, the Hotel Presidente rates actually come with a breakfast included in the package and because of that in that one particular area the Hotel Presidente does compete with the luxury hotels at getting people that would like to save some money but who also do not really want to travel outside of the hotel in the morning in order to get their breakfast. With the new renovations just installed to the rooms and to the dining areas, Hotel Presidente has the look of a luxury hotel without having the price of one.
Another thing to like about Hotel Presidente is that during the last renovation the hotel management decided to make Hotel Presidente the modern hotel of the Macau area. This has nothing to do with decorations and it has everything to do with infrastructure and amenities. You can use the phone at Hotel Presidente to make an unlimited number of local phone calls in Macau and there is free internet available in all of the rooms now. All you have to do is bring your laptop and plug it in and you will have access to the internet just as you would at home. This is useful for people that want to gamble at a casino in Macau and then come back to the hotel and bet on their favourite sports team that is playing later that night.
In terms of location, Hotel Presidente is located next to the business district in Macau and that in turn puts it right next to the best shopping that is available in the city. Shopping is a crawling distance away from the hotel and offers great deals while a walk of 20 minutes will get you to some of the big casino gambling establishments in the city. With that in mind, it is quite easy to see why many people prefer the middle-of-the-road approach that Hotel Presidente takes when it comes to insinuating itself in between luxury hotels with gambling right inside and discount hotels that have impossibly long walks to the same structures.
