DO make sure that you dress appropriately for the particular casino that you are visiting. While strict dress codes are not the normal way of doing things in Macau, there are enough casinos around that have them for you to call ahead to make sure what the exact code for your particular casino of choice happens to be. If you fail to do this, you might end up with a nasty surprise when you are not allowed inside the casino.
DON'T assume that the game you want to play will be available at the particular casino you visit. If there is a particular game that you are interested in playing at a Macau casino, make sure you call ahead to find out whether that game is available. The gaming selection in Macau casinos is quite different from the gaming selection in Las Vegas casinos or casinos in Europe and for that reason many of the second tier table games that you would find in the western parts of the world have been replaced with eastern games in Macau . Once again, failing to plan ahead could land you in a very nasty situation when push comes to shove.
DO take advantage of all of the complimentary items that the Macau casinos offer. Every casino in Macau at least offers non-alcoholic beverages for free and there are some that even take that to the next level for different food and alcoholic beverages as well. Many people do not partake of these because they feel guilty about getting something for nothing, but rest assured that the casino makes back more than it gives out in complimentary items when it comes to people actually gambling on the different games they have available. No Macau casino would actually make money and stay in business otherwise, so do not feel guilty about taking advantage of things that are specifically there for you.
DON'T antagonize the security guards in any of the casinos. There are some casinos in Europe that people feel okay about antagonizing security guards in because of laws that prevent them from being thrown out unless they are breaking some specific rule within the casino as well as laws that prohibit certain things from actually being made rules on the European continent. However, Macau is under the rule of China and the Chinese government is a lot stricter when it comes to keeping the peace than any of the governments in Europe . For this reason, you need to make absolutely sure that you obey any instructions you are given by guards and follow them to the letter. This is another one of those nasty surprise areas if you decide that such things are beneath you.
DO learn about the games before you play them. As previously mentioned, there are going to be many games in Macau that are probably new to you. While there is no reason for not playing those games, you should make sure that you learn how to play the games before you actually sit down at the table. Doing so will increase your chances of winning at the games you play.
